Task Triage
Clear your head. Sort the pile. Start moving.
What's on your mind? Type everything below: tasks, worries, ideas, reminders, things you've been putting off. Don't organize. Don't judge. Just get it all out. One item per line.
Why this works
When your brain is juggling too many open loops, it spends more energy tracking things than actually doing them. Cognitive load research consistently shows that externalizing tasks — getting them out of your head and onto a surface — immediately reduces the mental burden. Task Triage takes that a step further: it forces a fast, simple decision on each item, one at a time, so you never freeze trying to weigh everything at once.
The five buckets align with the core logic of priority management: what's time-sensitive (Urgent), what's high-value but schedulable (Important), what can wait (Later), what should belong to someone else (Delegate), and what you should simply release (Drop). Most people are surprised by how many items belong in the last two. That surprise is the whole point.
This tool is designed to be used in one quick session — anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. Don't overthink the sorting. Your first instinct is usually right. When you're done, you'll have a concrete next-step list and a much quieter mind.
